WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?

Hey, parents!

When I'm with the youth, I go by Mr. Dove and I am doing a one week soft launch of my brand UpWord Dovelopment...a few Facebook polls helped me figure out the name.

I've been doing my edutainment and art enrichment classes in different ways since about 2015. I've been a substitute teacher, I've worked in special education for a short period of time, I've worked as the media clerk at an elementary school, after school programs, summer camps, enrichment programs, and as a teaching artist.

As long as I've been working with the youth, I realized I don't have a lot of promotional footage to show for it. Not much to show people that what I've been doing and that the kids have been a fan for years. The purpose of this camp is so that I can get footage and testimonials of the students and their experiences with my classes. This way I can perfect and promote the classes for the big launch later on.

That means you can get in with just a single donation.

The ask is at least a $50 minimum per class per student for the week simply because it's a lot of work. However, I'm honestly more concerned that the spots get filled so I can archive the classes, learn and grow.

Upword Dovelopment is essentially all the fun edutainment things I love to do with the youth like poetry, theater, music, green screen, stop motion, videos, and the list goes on.

And YOU have the opportunity to help me grow it and to give your children a fun experience they won't forget.

It is such a joy watching students light up when they create a project with green screen or even how they laugh when they see their friends projects for stop motion. I hope your child gets the chance to experience it.

POTENTIAL FAQ?

What age group is this for? Grade level is rising 3rd graders to rising 6th. However, there has been middle school interest, so maybe a few early teens.
Won't mixing kids at different ages be chaotic? I will divide the classroom appropriately so that students are comfortable within their general age groups.
What are the times? STOP MOTION - 9AM and GREEN SCREEN - 1PM
What's for lunch? We will provide a light snack per class, but each student needs to bring their own lunch if they are staying after the second class ends at 12.
Do you have experience with the classes you are teaching? Nope! ...Just kidding. While I only started working with stop motion in 2022, green screen animation has been something I've been fond of and active with since about 2017. Watching these creations come to life has been great for the students and the myself.
What if my child does both classes? Students can be picked up by the parent for lunch and return to class by 1pm, or they can bring their own lunch. There will be hold over activities available for those who stay such as cards, board games and something to watch on the TV.
Where parents can go in meantime? Parents can remain upstairs in the sanctuary during the duration of the class.

Do they need their own device? Yes. An iPad, phone or tablet
Is there a deadline to sign up? Friday July 23 at 5PM.
Child's behavior? Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Please have your child come ready to be attentive and respectful. If we have problems with your child's behavior, a few short warnings will be granted. If problems continue, it will be removal from the class for day, or week if necessary. A 50% refund will be given.
Safety? Our class sessions will be located on the bottom level of our church building. Outside doors will be locked. Parent re entry must be requested and granted.
Filming? Signing your child up for the classes gives them permission to be in the video recordings for promo material for future classes and the It's Mr. Dove EDU YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/@itsmr.doveedu4705
